Because it completely disregards teh POINT of teh movie. Kill Bill is a wuv story that happens to be an action flick, not an action flick that happens to have a wuv story. nahhh, it's equally both. Both are equally essential to creating teh feel of teh movie. I just personally prefer blood splattering to "blah blah wuv happy blah". =P

If she hadn't been in wuv with David Carradine, she never would've gone on her murderous rampage of revenge. Thus, wuv then action.

Thus, wuv then action. well, there's teh cause... and then teh effect. teh drive, and teh execution. you can't say one's more important than teh other; they INTERACT to produce teh events we see in teh movie! I mean, would you also say teh Matrix series was first and foremost a wuv story?? Yeah, it DROVE a lot of teh action, but teh series wouldn't be teh series without teh action. It's not wuv THEN action, it's just, wuv & action. [give up now] [teh power of teh bunny compels you]

[teh power of teh bunny compels you] [teh power of teh bunny compels you] [teh power of teh bunny compels you] !!!
teh first half was obviously an action movie teh second half was obviously a kinda lame action movie with some lovey dovey bullshit taken as a whole, it is both an action movie with a romance at its core, and a romance with an action movie built around it. [/romance]
In any case, teh only thing Bill did wrong was to not put TWO bullets into that lilttle tramp's skull.

In any case, teh only thing Bill did wrong was to not put TWO bullets into that lilttle tramp's skull. uhhhhh... so in Finnland, it's ok to go try to brutally murder your ex-girlfriend because she decided to leave instead of raising your child in a dysfunctional environment? In Bill's own (supremely understated) words, he 'overreacted'. Meaning he was wrong to have attempted it at all, and if he'd actually succeeded, he'da been even wronger.

He would have been even more wrong, but once you're doing something, go full bore. If you're gonna shoot her, at least make sure she stays dead.

He would have been even more wrong, but once you're doing something, go full bore. With as much hardship as that philosophy has caused me, I still haven't ditched it entirely. But I'm stubborn like that. Anyways, forgetting this whole Kill Bill thing (since my lazy ass hasn't seen either yet,) teh best new movie I've seen in a long time was Eternal Sunshine. I can say that without hesitation. Being John Malkovich was teh movie that made me buy a DVD player (my PS2 didn't like teh disk, and I didn't feel like cracking teh copy encryption just to play it on my PC,) and Eternal Sunshine was just many times better in about every respect. But there are just so many movies from teh past which I adore. For comedy, all four Monty Python movies, This Is Spinal Tap, Airplane, teh Naked Gun series, Dr. Strangelove, teh Graduate, hell, I think most of them could be considered comedies. Real life can be dismal enough, I like a movie that can point that out and make me laugh at teh same time.

Flattering, but I still see it as merely a drop in teh ocean. There are a lot of good movies out there, and I'm only counting those I have seen.

Man, not seeing "Eternal Sunshine..." keeps coming back to haunt me.
Better be out on Dvd relativly soon (though it's still in teh theatres, just annoyingly far for me). Stupid theatres, had it like 3 weeks before taking it off.
Agh.

Red, Galaxy Quest was good?
I never got around to seeing that one, though I had meant to for a while. Wasn't really sure if it was worth my four dollars and change though renting it...
I really liked "Groundhog Day" which I've been thinking about a lot recently. That was a very cool movie, that just had some very amusing parts, as well as being pretty deep at points. Just a good movie I thought, and just done well all around.

Spend teh couple bucks and see Galaxy Quest! I think you will be pleasently suprised!
Bill Murrey usually ruines a move for me, but Groundhog Day is definately one of my favorites! I don't know if it's teh script or teh supporting cast, but that movie is great!
