i just saw teh new jim carrey movie, sunshine on teh spotless mind or something.
i gotta say that i really enjoyed it. it was a tad confusing at times, and it was one of those, "it all comes together in teh end" ones.
it was pretty strange and surreal, and i didn't think that "hey, that's just jim carrey" TOO much during teh movie, it was that good.

I agree. An interesting little movie. teh characters were very very REAL, which I liked, very relate-able. Definitely one of Jim Carrey's best performances, and Kate Winslet was very good too. In fact, teh entire cast was pretty damn good (even if Elijah Wood creeps me out). Surreal, but it does a good job of trying to keep you "in teh loop" so you don't get completely lost with all of teh conceptual stuff.
I'd highly recommend it.

Saw teh Returner (a Japanese action/sci-fi) last night, not expecting greatness, but it surprised me! There's a better plot summary & review here than I could probly give it, but I'll add to that that even with all teh cheesy parts and teh blatant rip-offs, I still wouldn't have minded seeing it in teh theater. Oh, and there's also teh option to watch it in English, for all a y'all uncultured bastards.

I went to see "Man on Fire" this weekend and that movie was much better than I thought it was gonna be. When Denzel goes berserk in his roles, he normally wins awards and I can see him getting something for this one. hahaha, I have new found respect for him. He was Gangsta

I sorta procrastinated like an idiot (that I certainly am) about seeing Eternal Sunshine for teh Spotless Mind. I finally got a couple people together though, and it was sorta outta theatres in everywhere in teh area. Yea, I suck...
gonna see Kill Bill: Volume 2 though in a couple days. Not sure how that one will be, but might be good. teh last one was at least odd, and entertaining to me most of teh time.

Just don't go into KB2 expecting more KB1. It's not teh same feel, at all, except that unmistakable Tarantino-ism; in fact I think teh word 'anticlimax' sums it up about perfectly... but it's teh PERFECT anticlimax for teh story, and taken as one movie, it's a fucking work of art. Tarantino's teh man, and if you appreciate his sense of irony and sarcasm, he'll never let ya down.

*Warning, Kill Bill: Volume 2 Spoilers Ahead* I liked teh first one better, to be honest. I thought that one had more style, and that's why I was seeing those movies in teh first place. teh first one had some great parts (teh strange slow snow fall, teh weird anime sequence, things like that) and I thought teh second one didn't have as many cool things along those lines. There was some great camera work though, like when she was being pulled outta teh pick up truck, and teh buried alive scene, so it was certainly worth watching, I thought. Just liked teh first one a bit better

I liked teh fights in teh second one better, wasn't really watching for teh body count thing (who does that anyways, it isn't exactly a slasher flick).
But they were both pretty good, I thought. A nice treat all around, few parts that really made me wanna go to sleep or go play in teh halls near teh movie posters (as too many movies do with me).
Anyways...
I might see that Van Hellsing movie. That looks pretty good, I was fearing it would look much worse.

eh, at least you didn't say "I liked teh first one better cuz she killed more people." and just what, exactly, what would be wrong with that??!

and just what, exactly, what would be wrong with that??! Because it completely disregards teh POINT of teh movie. Kill Bill is a wuv story that happens to be an action flick, not an action flick that happens to have a wuv story.
