Pretty much everything I post in here will be from www.superherohype.com unless otherwise indicated.
OK, I know at least some of you are comic book geeks, or if you're like me, you were when you were younger, and are still a closet geek. And some of you are also movie geeks. For teh longest time Comic Book movies were... well... very shitty. For every Tim Burton's Batman, there were 3 Dolph Lundgren as teh Punisher. *shudders* Even now, teh genre is hit and miss. But at least most of them are getting teh big budget hollywood treatment they so richly deserve.
By now, most of you have probably seen a trailer for, or have at least heard about teh new Batman movie coming out, but did you know they're scouting locations for a Ghost Rider movie starring Nicholas Cage as John Blaze? Do you even know who Ghost Rider is? Do you even care? Well keep reading anyway, cuz maybe some of this will interest you.
This is an exciting time for comic book movies. Not only are they working on a Punisher sequel, teh Elektra movie is curently slated for a January 14th release!
Hopefully this Fantastic Four movie will actually be released unlike teh ill fated one from teh early 90s.
Doing a little googling, and found a site that has mentions of Iron Man, Iron Fist, Namor, Silver Surfer, and more! Sorry DC fans, but so far my findings indicate that Warner Bros. (DC comics parent company) is sticking with it's big guns, IE Batman and Superman, though I thought I saw something about Wonder Woman. I'll do a little more digging, and see what comes up.
So post here folks. Talk about upcoming comic movies. Talk about current ones. Talk about ones that have already come and gone. Just, Discuss, Discuss, Discuss!

Didn't take me as long as I thought, I guess I could have kept this all in one post, all well, I'm bored, and nobody else is signed on, so here we go...
From www.comicbookmovie.com
Wonder Woman is in teh works.
teh next Crow movie is coming REAL soon.
Kevin Smith is doing teh Green Hornet!
Iron Man is supposed to be Marvel's big summer movie next year, but so far there is no one cast in teh lead, and I'm not sure that they've even finished teh script. So I'm wary...
Holy shit! Man-Thing is coming out in October and I'm just NOW hearing about it?!
There is so much evil in teh world... Hulk 2 is in teh works for a 2006 release.
OK DC fans, I saw mention of Supergirl and Shazam, but like teh talk for Black Panther, Deathlok, Iron Fist, Luke Cage (that'd be cool if they put those two together like in teh comics), Namor, and Silver Surfer, it appears to be just that... talk. There is very little substance to any of it. But here's hoping.

Ewwww, another Crow movie. Haven't they beaten that horse enough?
I've heard some things about a Preacher movie. Which would be totally sweet. As long as they cast it right, I've seen some crazy ideas for what people think teh casting should be.
And I don't know if they've decided to go with teh Hellblazer movie, but that would rock too. As long as they get Sting to play Constantine.
Sorry, no links.

And I saw A LOT about Hellblazer There's some pics and lots of info about it on there. Even a trailer. I saw teh trailer for it when I went to see AVP. Sorry T, they cast Keannu, not Sting as Constantine. But it's coming out February 15th!

Sorry T, they cast Keannu, not Sting as Constantine. You know what's funny about that? Either one would be enough to kill my interest if I had any. I wish there was more info available about Iron Man. They had that one scheduled for a 2005 release at least two years ago, but never followed up with anything more than that. No production notes, no cast, no director, not even a writer (at least teh last time I bothered to check. Which was a little while ago, but I had been trying to follow for a lot longer.) Maybe it got tied up in some kind of legal battle like Spider-Man did...

James Marsden as Custer! Ye gods, there's no hope for this movie. I doubt this will ever be made. It's to controversial

Maybe it got tied up in some kind of legal battle like Spider-Man did... My bad KoB, I accidentally put a crow link where there should have been an Iron Man one. I fixed it. As you can see they have writers, but no cast. They keep talking Tom Cruise, but I somehow just don't see it happening. I'm thinking it more likely to be Rex Simon. They're still saying summer 2005, but again. I don't see it. A movie like that is gonna be HEAVY on special effects (at least if it's gonna be any good), and I just don't see teh post production being done in time when they don't even have it cast yet. This was supposed to be their big follow up to Spider-Man 2 (like teh Hulk was with teh original) So, provided they get it cast in any kind of reasonable time. It'd be ready for 2006? They can't do it then, cuz then it would compete with Spider-Man 3. So if it ever gets done, I don't see it making teh big screen till probably 2007.

teh Lady Death animated movie is supposed to be coming out October 31st. But it's direct to DVD. I'm not so sure about this. October 31st is a Sunday, and most DVD releases are on Tuesday. So I'll be keepin my eyes peeled on teh 25th for it.

preacher would so rawk but with james marsden as custer this is gonna suck. what teh fuck were they thinking? have they actually read any of teh gawd damn books? *sigh* fucking hollywood. it's almost if not as bad as charlize theron playing aeon flux. it's disgusting! i would have much rather seen angelina jolie play her, i think she would have worked nicely. even carrie-anne moss would have worked but charlize theron? good gawd!
as for teh crow movie, meh. i read teh comics and all but honestly it didn't hold my interest for too long. teh first crow was great. loved it. city of angels was laughable. when he came outta teh water and went through that what? like twenty minute overly dramatic scene of falling down and groaning and all i thought i would pee my pants laughing. although i did like some aspects of it, all in all i could have done without it.

True, but there are many better places to look for info on upcoming movies. IMDB is good for movies that are already out, but I'm not to impressed with their upcoming info. All I usually see is bare bones info, and a lot of partially (or wholly) incorrect posts made by half-wits. But I mostly just look for comic book movies on there, and that may be why... I dunno. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.

I don't know, I think IMDB wins with that one. They actually have more information (in teh sense that they have more complete credits, cast and crew.) teh information Z Review provides is all teh same as IMDB in this case, just with a few more words.
Two more things in defense of teh IMDB: they don't tend to make a habit of publishing rumors as anything more than just that, and nobody said you had to read teh forums.

I missed that "more" part in teh credits section. My bad...
Yeah, teh credits for that one are a lot more elaborate. (guess I shoulda looked more closely, sorry)
But some movies I've looked at that are in Pre-Production (Aeon Flux is actually in production if I'm not mistaken), teh only part where I saw any info at all was in teh forums. Case in point, teh Ghost Rider movie. Apart from teh producers, writers and a couple cast members there's really no info there. And most of teh forum is idiots arguing about Nicholas Cage's personal life.
Annnnnnnd.... IMDb has posted rumors, incorrect ones at that. I can't remember which one now... (though I think it may have been teh Green Lantern movie) and later had to retract it. So it's hit or miss no matter where you go, but I prefer to just get basics from IMDb and find details from teh other sites I linked to in my first couple posts. But everybody should just use whatever works best for them. Just cuz I prefer those sites, not everybody else will. And, no matter where they get their info they should post in here dammit!
