"Do not make mad" list? You should try and read "Tempting Fate"! Whowhathuh? Do you know how hard it was to find teh four I have THIS far... and teh fact that teh rest of teh series, except for teh one just out in hardcover, isn't in publication any more? That means I hafta wait until I can get to Mr. K's (used bookstore near rosey) to see if THEY have any of these books.

YAY! that book is super aXXXesome! i hink when i read it i had two days off, and i sat and read it basically straight through minus a few hours for sleep... it was most definitly a glorious couple of days. Yeah! I'm almost done already...I cannot stretch books out worth a damn. It's great. I really wuv Gaiman's work. I've read Stardust, and I really wanna read Good Omens (it's what I went to teh bookstore for, but they didn't have it). Is there any particular aspect of Gaiman's work you like a lot? I just think he's an excellent wordsmith. I wuv teh way he plays with words and sentances and how it just kind of rolls off your tongue.

I would most definitly consider him more of a story teller than a writter, mostly just because due to how often he crosses media. struck it buig as a comic book writter, moved to novels, childrens books, young adult novels, and now movies. i don't think there is anything that he can't do.
teh favorite thing i like about his writting is that many of his stories hafta do with some sort of mythology. not always, but quite often. he also seems to like to refer to many outside sources...
if your interested, he's got a new novel coming out soon call Anansi Boys and there is an excerpt up here...
needless too say, i'm pretty stoked to see what will come of this novel.

I definitely agree with you on teh story teller thing. He's one of teh most captivating story tellers I've run across lately. Though, I think JK Rowling can give him a run for his money, even if her last book wasn't (imo) as good as teh first few.

You really should read teh HP series, they're a lot of fun, and an easy entertaining read. Everyone should read Harry Potter.

YAY! that book is super aXXXesome! i hink when i read it i had two days off, and i sat and read it basically straight through minus a few hours for sleep... it was most definitly a glorious couple of days. My aunt just gave me a bunch of books, and one of them was American Gods... now you guys have gotten me all excited about reading it! It's definately next on my list. (She totally sidetracked me from Wise Blood by giving me these, though, so I don't know when that one will be finished...) I started reading Across teh Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn, and I haven't been able to put it down. I would totally recommend it, particularly for teh atact folks, but for everyone else too. There's some really interesting Japanese cultural stuff, and lots of cool assassin stuff. Kind of a fast read, but very entertaining. And there are two sequels!

OK.... so I'm doing something VERY unlike me. I am not gonna read a book for at least a month! I know, its harsh, and I'm not sure if I can pull it off. But c'mon its summer I should be wasting brain cells on tv. I mean all this reading is defeating teh purpose... right?

Read during teh day when there's nothing ON tv, and then at night, when there are decent shows on, put teh books away. That way you get teh best of both worlds.

I thought that it was supposed to work teh other way around and you watch TV durring teh winter since you can't go anywhere and read durring teh summer because a book can go anywhere with you.

OK... I couldn't do it. One day and I was going nuts. And then I kinda went on a reading binge, where I just started reading like a chapter of each book I haven't read yet, and then getting really confused and then falling asleep.

I knew you couldn't do it. That would be like me going without my sketchbook.... *shudders*

I just got finished reading "Sister of teh Dead" and I'm trying to collect some more of my "Forgotten Realm" books because I tear through them far too quickly. They are quite good.
