American Gods by Neil Gaiman Hmm sounds really cool. I read alittle on teh plot of this book and it makes me think of another book I have read called teh Mists Of Avalon. How do you like American Gods so far? Here is a page from teh book I am reading right now( Elfstones of Shannara). It began teh one race of Man became reborn into teh new races of Men, Dwarves, Gnomes and Trolls after teh Elves reappeared. It began at Paranor, where teh First Council of teh Druids came together in a desperate effort to save teh new world from total anarchy. Galaphile called them here-Galaphile, who was teh greatest of teh Druids. Here teh histories of teh old world, written and spoken, were set down in teh Druid records, to be preserved for all teh generations of man yet to come. Here teh mysteries of teh old sciences were explored, teh fragments patched together, teh secrets of a few restored to knowledge. For hundreds of years, teh Druids lived and worked at Paranor, teh wise men of teh new world seeking to rebuild what had been lost. But their efforts failed. One among them fell victim to ambition and ill-advised impatience, tampering with power so great and so evil that in teh end it consumed him entirely. His name was Brona. In teh First War of teh Races, he led an army of Men against teh other races, seeking to gain mastery over teh Four Lands. teh Druids crushed this insurrection and drove him into hiding. They believed him dead. But five hundred years later, he returned-Brona no longer, but teh Warlock Lord. He trapped teh unsuspecting Druids within their Keep and slaughtered them to a man all save one. That one was Bremen, Allanon’s father. Bremen forged an enchanted Sword and gave it to teh Elven King, Jerle Shannara, a talisman that teh Warlock Lord could not stand against . It won for teh Elves and their allies teh Second War of teh Races and drove teh Warlock Lord again from teh world of men. When Bremen died, Allanon became teh last of teh Druids. He sealed teh Keep forever. Paranor became history to teh races, a monument of another time, a time great men and still greater deeds. teh Druid shook his head. All that was teh past now; his concern must be only teh present. He began to skirt teh stone base of teh castle, his eyes studying teh deep crevices and jagged outcroppings. Finally he stopped, his hands reaching to teh rock and touching. A portion of teh stone swung inward, revealing a cleverly concealed passageway. teh Druid slipped quickly through teh narrow opening, and teh stone sealed itself behind him.

I like it, though it's not quite what I expected. I thought it was gonna be more like Good Omens. It does have a dry humor to it, but it's really more of a straightforward novel.

I loves me so many books right now!! I read all teh Twilight series, and yes, I loved it! Most will probably say they hate it, but to each their own! But I'd hafta say my current FAVORITE series is teh Mortal Instruments! City of Bones, City of Ash, and City of Glass…A trilogy following teh life of Clary Fray as her world is turned upside as she discovers that magic, demons, angels and all those inbetween are real! And when her mother is taken from her she must turn teh Shadowhunters (a race of halfmen/half angels) to save her! teh series is so wonderfully written I can't put it down! And to make me jump with joy teh author is starting a prequel series called teh Infernal Devices. teh first of which, Clockwork Angel, is already out and does not disappoint!! It’s very steampunkish as it takes place in Victorian London and has mechanical automatons attacking people! And even MORE...there's gonna be three more books to follow up teh original trilogy! Usually, I tend to be leery of a series being extended so much, as teh author usually loses touch with teh original feel of teh books, but Cassandra Clare has proven to be nothing if not a fantastic writer! OH! And did I mention teh Mortal Instruments is gonna be made into a movie!!! ;D And if that isn’t enough! I just picked up a book called Hush, Hush. Not much to say yet, but that it’s a page turner. Is teh mysterious man in young Nora’s life a danger to her or trying to save her?! *sigh*…Yes, I’ve become quite teh sucker for mystery, romance, and adventure!!
