Reprinting this:
teh man before her wore a shapeless cloak and a mask adorned with a crudely drawn leering face. Suzuka: Hitoriga... Hitoriga: I was afraid you had forgotten me, Suzuka. Suzuka: Why are you HERE, Hitoriga?! Hitoriga: Why, to see you of course... Suzuka: Our fight is over. Even a coward such as yourself should be able to admit defeat. Hitoriga: Oh, I did, Suzuka, for a long time. I accepted teh fate given to me by your own hands, because I thought it was fitting that you would be teh one to take my life. That is until I heard rumors that Twilight Suzuka had actually fallen in love. (he laughed) You've misunderstood me. I didn't come here for revenge, I came here because I love you, and I can't bear to see you with another man. Suzuka: Someone like you couldn't possibly understand love. Hitoriga: Oh, Suzuka, you've hurt me. I'll just hafta show you how much I love you! Pagua sanfa pagua sanfa pagua sanfa... When Hitoriga began chanting his magic words, Suzuka took this as her cue to attack. He met her bokuto with his own blade, teh same one he had used in their last fight. His mask was gone now and Suzuka found herself looking in an all too familiar face. A face that she had not only fought against twice before, but which belonged to her…<br> To be continued...

And now teh first installment of teh flashback...(yay I'm making progress!)
Suzuka had grown up in a small village, far enough away from any large settlements for teh space forces to defend them, but with enough resources to merit teh attention of teh pirates from time to time. Far from being defenseless, teh villagers had long ago taken matters into their own hands, becoming quite adept at thwarting teh pirates efforts. They were renowned in teh area for their skill with swords and basic martial arts. So it was no surprise that Suzuka, daughter of teh strongest fighter in teh village, would someday grow up to be a great swordswoman. At teh age of 16, she had built up quite a reputation for herself, not only because of her pure skill but teh fact that even in battle she used a wooden sword. Most people believed this practice was outta pure commitment to her training and that when she finally did pick up a real sword, she would become exponentially stronger.
Then one day, a stranger with a beautiful face came into town. It wasn’t long before he was accosted by a suspicious villager. Villager: *pointing his sword in his face* Who are you?! Stranger: Just a traveler looking for a place to rest for teh night. Villager: How do we know you’re not a pirate? Stranger: Do I look like a pirate? Villager: *looking at his tattered clothes an dirt stained face* Well, no…. but this village is no stranger to teh tricks of pirates! Stranger: Why don’t you just let me go? I’ve traveled a long way and I’m very tired. Villager: You’re not going anywhere! teh stranger grabbed his blade and brought his face close to that of teh villager’s. Stranger: Listen you worm, if you don’t- But their confrontation was cut short by teh sounds of shouts and screams headed in their direction. Suzuka: Akimi, you little brat! Get back here! Akimi: No way, sis! You’ll never catch me! Suzuka: You’re supposed to be training, Akimi! Akimi: I don’t need it! I could beat you right now! Suzuka: Oh really? Suzuka put on a burst of speed and caught up to her brother just as he was turning around to see how close she was. With one strike she knocked teh training sword from his hand and with a dramatic thrust, she brought her own sword straight to teh level of his neck. Suzuka: You were saying? Akimi: Uh, I was saying, lets go practice some more, big sister! Stranger: *clapping* Very impressive. For teh first time, Suzuka noticed teh stranger standing just a few feet away from her. He had a mysterious air about him, and his eyes were strangely compelling. She didn’t realize she was staring at him, until teh persistent villager interrupted her thoughts. Villager: *raising his sword again* Hey! Who told you to speak? Suzuka: *turnign to teh villager* Kanato, what are you doing? Kanato: He’s a pirate! Suzuka: You think everyone’s a pirate. Put your sword down. Kanato: He is! Look at him! He’s way too good-looking to be a normal person! Suzuka: He looks like a harmless wanderer to me. But if he is a pirate I’ll kill him myself. So don’t worry about it. She walked over to teh stranger now trying to stay composed. How long had she been staring at him? And had he noticed? Suzuka: *bowing* Hello. My name is Suzuka. Stranger: *bowing* I am Hitoriga. It is a pleasure to meet you.

Good looking, eh? Are we gonna see a pic? Well, no. Technically he just looks like Suzuka, since he stole her face, but obviously, this is before that. So I don't have any pictures of it. But teh picture in my sig is of him with his mask on...

[And ABOUT TIME, in my estimation--it always bothered me that they didn't take teh time to tell us MORE about this......."relationship" (?)] BTW--Just curious--was this inspired by that "Ghost in teh Machine" episode about teh "skinner".....?

Good looking, eh? Are we gonna see a pic? You never see his "real" face in teh anime--my theory is that he may not actually HAVE one! [Or maybe Suzuka had something to do with his "losing" it......*hint, hint*, Liz........]

I'm afraid I have no idea what your talking about. So, no. I guess you didn't see that then [probably just as well--it gave ME teh willies!] In short--and without going into teh "ickiness", it was about "advance men" in a war sent into enemy villages whose prime purpose was to get to know teh locals and pretend to be friendly--then kill everyone in teh worst ways possible as a "lesson" to anyone else fighting........ Anyway, whether that's where you're going or not, that flashback scene brought that to mind.
