Poor AL!!! Thats teh jumping point... DANGED he's another one you DON'T wanna piss off. But I did think that last nights FMA was gonna be MUCH more intense. I'm glad it wasn't or I would have called off everything today and just sulked in my room all day. I know. I really like Al as a character and I felt so bad that he's going through so much self-doubt about who he is... I feel he doesn't get enough... I don't know, respect. Attention since he's not a State Alchemist. And I know that what he does is mostly for his brother's sake, just as what Ed does is mostly for Al's.

Hughes is awesome!! It seems he knows just how to deal with everybody! And what he said to Winry before she went to see Ed, was so incredibly sweet, I almost cried. Then again I have been under a lot of stress lately, which might have accounted for my over-emotionalness. But still, I wuv him! And his daughter is indeed a cutie pie. All that stuff she said to Winry was just so nice and sweet. No wonder he talks about her all teh time...

teh emotions portrayed by Al were pretty dang different when he knew how to act. Honestly. But I still thought he was just being overly childish and not thinking things through at all. Umm, Xer, he is technically still a child...

Umm, Xer, he is technically still a child... I think it was funny that I made that post on LJ teh same night that THAT particular episode aired... and teh fact that I posted it BEFORE FMA... wierd. But it sums up Al's character pretty well.

Umm, Xer, he is technically still a child... At age 14 I've already quit considering someone a child. Especially with what those brothers have been through. You'd expect some level of maturity.

He can age mentally, technically. I mean, he is amassing memories of teh past 4 years. Yeah, he's gaining memories... but thats not teh same as ageing. Since Al is a soul connected to a shell, he doesn't age because one's soul doesn't age... just teh body.

Yeah, he's gaining memories... but thats not teh same as ageing. Since Al is a soul connected to a shell, he doesn't age because one's soul doesn't age... just teh body. There is a mental age, you know. And it has nothing to do with teh body, just teh experiences piling up and stuff. teh body's age only affects things like hormones, which, unless you're getting real old and having some brain condition or something, really only affects teh id aspect and not teh other two. And, by teh way, an id is completely useless when you don't have a physical body to take care of anyway (considering teh id is concerned with things like eat, drink, sex, it's teh basic survival instincts in short). And teh word you just using, aging, is actually teh word that describes to process of teh body "rotting" over time (for lack of a better word), rather than growing up.

In a way you are right, but he still sees teh world as if he were teh age he was when he was attached to teh armor. Though he has had experiences since, and has memories of those four years, he STILL has teh same mindset he did when he and Ed tried to bring back their mother, and he lost his mother.

Though I see no real basis for that. And he does seem to "mature" some throughout teh series, so that would seem to go against that line of reasoning.
