I've personally never seen Vandread, though I've heard many things about it.
Lately I've seen a goodly number of animes, and I've had no outlet on being able to discuss them. Hopefully that can be alleviated here.
- Berserk - Wolf's Rain (teh dubs are terrible btw) - RahXephon - Neon Genesis Evangelion - X/1999 - Hellsing
Only a few of what I've watched in teh last 6 months or so... if anyone has seen them, which I can only hope for, I am definitely willing to discuss.

Can anobody tell me about Helsing or Heat Guy J? Both look/sound pretty interesting. My friend Kevin owns teh Hellsing boxset and absolutely adores it. I think almost every guy who's come into contact with it thinks it's teh most badass anime EVAR!!11 But that's really all I know about it.

I liked it, because it's violent, bloody, stylistic, etc. Rather mindless, but not everything you watch has to be thought provoking. Well, not everything I watch has to be...

I've watched Hellsing and Wolf's Rain off your list. I got half of Hellsing on tape form teh Action Network, but but for some reason(they were re-runs), AN didn't show teh rest.

Hellsing, oh what a happy anime that is. Much blood and killing. Its similar to Witch Hunter Robin in that its about something "not human" hunting their own kind, and it has a "Mission" format as you watch missions unfold. But unlike WHR, teh missions are linked and there is very much more action and blood. You don't hafta think as much to understand it. teh only reason I bother comparing it to WHR like that is because we watched Hellsing in anime club and a little while later tried to watch WHR, but after a few nights of it, like two with four eps each night, they gave up because one, it was "too much like hellsing" or two, "its gonna be on Adult swim soon."
I've only seen teh first four episodes of Wolf's Rain, then I went to "no man's land" and couldn't watch teh next eight episodes, and haven't watched it since... I'm currently waiting for AS to go it again so I can watch it from where I left off, as right now I'm missing quite a bit of backstory.
Heat guy J I only saw three episodes to, and was too lazy to stay up and watch it or record it. From what I saw, I liked. But it was odd hearing teh notoriously "good guy" Johny Yong Bosch being teh bad guy, teh first line I heard him say in that series was "Hello, Mr. Duckey!" and I cracked up.
As for teh other mentioned Anime, I've not seen them. I've been told about Beserk, and that its a very good anime. But I can tell you no more than that.
My list of "current" anime include (not above mentioned or on Adult swim)... All Purpose Catgirl Nyuku Nyuku, Magic User's Club, Naruto (seasons one - three), Slayers, Saiyuki, Fushigi Yuugi (perfer teh manga, thank you), Ranma 1/2, Dragon Half, Excel Saga, El Hazard, and I think thats it. Most of them I liked with teh exception of teh first two tehy were too cutsie for me.
I also would like to note that I for one do like WHR.

I too like WHR. Not as much as Lupin, but I liked it.

ok folks most of you should know my views on hellsing but too bad! im saying um anyway!
Hellsing is a mediocre average anime at its best, teh storyline is nonexistant, only developement is ceras bust size although its more a pro than a con and teh animation is classic GONZO in teh ideal they seem to like going from great to horrible to good to bad to great
Bottom Line: if your looking for mindless blood and gore look no further, if your expecting anything more pass on this one

no it actually wasnt really, and if it continued any further it would of just sucked even more
honestly people, just skip teh anime and read teh manga, its much better and theres no purple homosexual guy with piercings, instead teh main villains are neo freaking Nazis!
neo-Nazis > Incognito (thats a 'greater than' symbol btw people)

Quite often teh Manga plot > Anime plot equation works.
And I'll admit Hellsing is one of those times.
