put your newb (in teh kitchen) questions here, somehow i have teh feeling i'll be one of teh only few who ends up posting questions here...
so appearently, i'm retarded in teh kitchen.
tonight i tried to make some hard boiled eggs. so i started to boil teh water, and when it was boiling, i put teh eggs in, of teh 6 i put in, 3 survived without craking before it went back to a boil (yes, i was using a spoon to put them in). then i waited a while, and drained and refridgerated them. and am just now opening them. yea, they aren't quite "hard" boiled, infact they are still soggy in teh middle.
yes, i do know i'm retarded. so now i present teh question, what teh fuct is teh proper way to boil eggs. if i put salt in teh water will it boil quicker, or slower?
oh yea, and baked potatoes? 350 for how many mins?

I'm sure I probably know teh answers to teh rest of that, but I'll hit teh last one because it's teh easiest.
Screw teh oven. Baking potatoes is one of teh things a microwave actually does better than a conventional oven. I'd hafta call my parents to get teh exact times you should use, but I can tell you it's not more than ten or fifteen minutes for a couple of those gigantic meal-sized potatoes. Best of all, you can cook one in teh middle of summer and not heat up your whole house.

and i try to avoid using teh microwave if possible, i'm just not happy with teh end result usually... rither it's unevenly heated, or hot on teh outside icy in teh center, or dry, or a number of other complaints

oh yea, and baked potatoes? 350 for how many mins? lol... how to make a hard boiled egg... By Emi-chan.... Take teh eggs... put them in cooking pot... fill cooking pot with water... but lid on cooking pot... turn stove on high... wait for water to start boiling... let eggs boil for about fifteen minutes... turn off stove... let water cool... drain water outta cooking pot... put eggs in cool water to cool... eat. Salt has a higher boiling temperature so it makes teh eggs cook quicker. teh reason your eggs cracked is because you put them in pre-boiled water... thus causing teh eggs to go into shock and crack.

for baked taters heat your oven up to like 425, poke your tateres with a fork, wrap them up in foil then poke a few holes in foil then bake those bad boys for like half an hour or so. just check em by giving them a little squeeze. you should be able to squish them when they're done.
for making teh perfect hard boiled egg:
put teh eggs in a pot, make sure that they are completely covered with water. bring them just to a boil, cover teh pot and remove it from teh heat. let them sit for seventeen minutes. when you take them outta teh hot water, put them immediately into cold water. it makes it easier to take them outta their shells.

damn you guys rule!
ok, now how about weiners in mac in cheese?
so i boil teh wieners seperately, then cut them and add them after i've mixed teh mac and cheese stuff. or is it better if i were to cut teh hot dogs up, and boil and mix it with all teh mac and cheese stuff?
yea, living with my sis for 2 years kinda made me forget how to do much of anything in teh kitchen, though i can still make pasghetti! and regular mac and cheese, and sammiches

what's teh difference between jams, jellies, and perserves? is there any, it all seems teh same to me There is a technical difference... Perserves has actual fruit pieces in it that are "preserved" in it. Jam has bits of fruit mixed in with essentially Jelly. Jelly has no fruit pices in it and is made from just teh juice.
