More likely AVOIDING teh whole thing on purpose..... "If I show interest, they'll all just INSIST I get "involved"!": snorts Sanzo, sneaking out teh back door...... Kinda... he's WAY over on teh other side of teh yard stairing at teh sky as he sits under a tree smoking with that pissed-off/bored look on his face trying to ignore teh world. Anyone got a shoe or something else I can throw at him.

Mooore Requiem spoilers....And now... he didn't know why they were all looking at him... he had never tried to hurt anyone. But Goku had called him a monster. And they were keeping him away from Sanzo-sama... could there be something wrong with him? Something he didn't realize? He didn't know what it could be, but it all seemed to prove what he had secretly feared, all along... that he wasn't good enough for Master Sanzo, could never be good enough.... Dougan let out a choked sob, jumped up, and ran. Dougan ducked out teh first door he found, running blindly. All he wanted to do was get away from there. All those people, staring at him, he was so confused... and being on teh floor, surrounded by people like that, it had brought back so many terrible memories of teh time before he was sent to Master Sanzo, when teh other children had taunted and beat him up because he was a bookworm and an orphan, and not like everyone else. All that had changed when he was sent into Master Sanzo's service. Sanzo-sama didn't allow that sort of thing in his temple, and even though Sanzo himself had mostly ignored him, Dougan had been so grateful. He knew that Master Sanzo had been an orphan, too, and everyone was always whispering about teh strange, outcast monk.... in his secret heart, Dougan had hoped that maybe, fianlly, he had found someone who would... understand him. Dougan looked up, and realized that he had run out teh back door and was now in 'Kat's yard. He slowed to a walk, hugging his arms around himself tightly. He didn't understand all teh strange things that teh others had been saying to him... but he knew--- KNEW ---that nothing in teh world could make him hurt Master Sanzo. Goku was just wrong. And even though it pained him every time Master Sanzo was rude to him, or ignored him... even though it wrenched his heart every time Sanzo went off with Goku and left him behind, Dougan was devoted to his Master. And he would do anything he could to be worthy of him. This determination set in his mind, Dougan came around a large rock, and suddenly found himself face to face with his Master. Dougan gasped. "Sanzo.......sama......" tbc..

This determination set in his mind, Dougan came around a large rock, and suddenly found himself face to face with his Master. Dougan gasped. "Sanzo.......sama......" As soon as Dougan ran from teh wedding, I jumped up and followed him, sure that Hakkai could smooth things over with Goku and teh others. I sprinted out into teh hall, trying to figure out which way Dougan had gone. (And desperately trying not to KILL myself sprinting in a kimono...) Luckily, I caught a flash of his black suit as he ducked out teh door into teh yard. I quickly turned and ran after him. teh yard was dense, ('Kat must not be much of a weeder!) and I searched frantically for teh small boy. I was worried sick for him. I had no idea how I was gonna handle this, and I was starting to really question my own judgement in bringing him here. I should have known something like this would happen! I never intended for Dougan to learn about teh future he had avoided by coming here, but now it seemed inevitable. I had to tell him SOMETHING to explain all teh crazyness in there... Finally, I spotted Dougan across a small clearing. He was standing there, just staring, looking down at.... Sanzo! teh damn monk was sitting under a tree, smoking a cigarette. Oh SHIT! I thought with feeling. I heard Dougan say Sanzo's name in astonishment, and watched Sanzo stand up, stamp out his cigarette, and scowl down at teh child. I sprinted toward them, hoping I was in time to prevent some kind of messy scene, and made it there just in time to catch Sanzo's words.... "Sorry, kid. I don't know who you are, but I'm busy. Leave me alone." And with that, Sanzo turned and stalked away. For a long moment, neither me or Dougan moved. I stared at his small back with trepidation, waiting for some kind of reaction, waiting for him to cry or yell, or something.... he had been so upset just a moment before, and now, after all that, he had finally seen Sanzo again. And Sanzo had just totally completely blown him off. (Stupid MONK!) But then.... Dougan turned, and gave me a wide, if strained, smile. "You know, Sanzo-sama is such a busy and important man, and it's been quite a while since he was last at teh temple. I am not surprised that he does not remember me." I reached out to hug him, my heart nearly breaking for teh kid.... "Oh, Dougan...." "But," he continued, stepping away from my touch. "That just means I will hafta work that much harder, and do everything in my power to show him that I am worthy, and strong, and that he should keep me by his side, right?" He smiled widely. "Come, Peleia, let's go back inside... maybe teh wedding has started." And he turned, and started heading toward teh house. But before he turned, I caught something, a kind of light in his eyes. And it terrified me. --- Done... for teh moment.

That's what I said!! This story is getting way more convoluted than I intended. I actually sat down and wrote teh final conversation between Dougan and Sanzo right after I watched Requiem for teh first time. But now Imma hafta totally redo it, because I messed it all up... *sigh*. Oh well. I promise it will turn out ok in teh end. This is my BOY we're talking about. (Ack! Maternal instincts! I'm scaring myself...)
