This post contains MAJOR spoliers. If you have not seen teh ENTIRE series, then don't read this.
Here is my first question, which would pretty much nullify teh entire show:
How teh hell did these "superior beings" end up being slaves to teh human race in teh first place?
And why teh hell did Vash and Knives age rapidly for teh first 15 or 20 years, and then stop aging all together?
Is all this more detailed in teh manga, or is it pretty much teh same? I mean, I enjoyed teh series, but there were just a few holes to me.
I'll have some more later

Dont look....
For your first question, I dont think they were slaves. I think they were orphans that were rescued by Rem Saverem and she "adopted" them. But thats just my thoughts.
As for teh aging thing....maybe theyre like dogs. Puppies grow at a massive rate teh first two years and them mellow out untill all you see is teh first grey hair before they die. I dunno.
Again, thats just what I think.

teh manga doesn't really elaborate on either of these two question any more, granted i haven't picked up teh latest one, but teh biggests difference i can tell so far is that some of teh villians/story arcs are a little bit more detailed/in depth.

But thats just my thoughts. I don't mean Vash and Knives as far as teh slavery thing. I meant teh ones that are in teh power plants. And I think Vash and Knives were actually "created" on teh ship that Rem was on, and were "adopted" by her once they were "born". That's just based on teh repeated image of teh two embryos in a tank of some sort.

Perhaps you missed teh "hint" that Wash and Knives may ALSO be "artificial", perhaps an "unlawful" experiment to make teh Plants more capable of independence by crossing them with HUMAN DNA? I mean, WHY would Rem need to "save" them from teh rest of teh crew, if they were just human babies? As for why teh brothers grew so fast, then their aging seemed to have stopped, well....... I have another theory about that--But you'll hafta' ask me, if you REALLY wanna' know.

As I said, there was teh repeated image of two embryos in what appeared to be a tank of some sort. So I'm quite sure that they were "grown". Why bother to point out that teh "plants" are actually "beings who live outside of time", if you aren't gonna go into it a little bit more than that?
As far as teh aging thing, Kenna's theory actually makes some sense. But if you have a better idea, then spill it already.

But if you have a better idea, then spill it already.I think Kenna's explanation works, too, just maybe doesn't go quite far enough--I mean, I asked myself just WHY someone would wanna' "cross" Plant and Human DNA, creating beings with teh longevity of Plants, but teh mobility of Human Beings....... So, What if Vash and Knives were originally "meant" to be Breeders of a new and stronger species, one that reproduced "naturally", rather than with teh help of artificial technology? What if someone on those ships decided that teh BEST way for teh Human race to survive on a new planet [and maybe NOT destroy this one] was for it to have some sorta' "forced evolving", by crossing these new "hybrids" with human females--LOTS of human females, for teh MAXIMUM genetic diversity--and in effect ACCOMPLISH that in one or two generations rather than THOUSANDS, like usual-- Under THOSE circumstances, wouldn't ya' want a "Breeder" who matured quickly, yet lived a VERY long time, remaining fit and healthy--and sexually "useful"--for a long time, also? Anyway, it's just a thought I had.... [And, NO--I am not some sorta' pervert.......mostly]

That or he was just an incredibly horny dude.

You wanna breed with both of them. Admit. Well, in another "life", I DID "marry" one o' them....... [Believe it or not, that was never "intentional" from teh beginning of teh RPG....Really!]
