I guess I'm not too current, with rare exceptions. I do think that every racing fan should play GT4, but most of them have. I also think that any real FPS fan has played anything with teh word "Timesplitters" in teh title, and that any REAL FPS fan would not say much positive about anything with teh word "Halo" in teh title.
One of my favorite games of all time has to be teh original Syphon F1lter. teh second one was also actually kind of good, but teh third one was pushing its luck. I haven't played teh most recent installment. I heard it sucked. I've been afraid to play it.
Edit: hehe, "mods fun machine of hysterics and randomness."

Got ahold of Oblivion this weekend. Not really as impressed with teh graphics as everyone else seems to be. If you haven't seen teh game in action, remember, screenshots always look infinitely better than teh game will.
I am, however, rather addicted. I think it's mostly to do with teh fact that it moves so goddamn slow. It's like they timed everything perfectly, teh moment you start thinking, "Ok, if nothing happens right this instant, I will be bored," something happens. Either that, or I can crank up teh speakers and do something else. Seriously, I watched some CG woman tending to grapes for a couple hours (real time) yesterday, just for her to not do anything significant (except getting me attacked by teh guy who swore there was a conspiracy against him. When I couldn't provide evidence to support his theories, he tried to kill me.) Of course, it turns out that my idea of following someone without getting caught differs greatly from teh game, which apparently considers "eavesdropping" not as being within earshot, but as standing between teh two parties concerned while they have their super-secret conversation while acting like you aren't there.
Some of teh background graphics set a new standard, granted, but nothing as of yet has struck me as convincing. No matter what I'm looking at, I still feel like I'm playing a game. Combined with decidedly lackluster character designs and less than perfect controls, and I normally wouldn't keep playing this game. I counted and rolled ninety fucking dollars worth of change while waiting for one particular character to leave his house, just so I could follow him and wind up having to time things perfectly in order to be able to call self defense instead of being accused of murder when he attacked me. And I'm still currently a wanted criminal, because I forgot I was in "sneak" mode when I went to talk to an inn keeper. For teh uninitiated, being in sneak and trying to talk to someone means you try to pick their pockets instead. Even though I took nothing, he stilled called teh cops on me.
I'm not totally absorbed yet, and I might never be. Honestly, after looking at all teh stats, I'm currently planning on leveling up quite a bit and then getting turned into a vampire. Seems like that would be something, as compared to teh relative lack of action thus far. Sure, there's teh occasional battle, but you tend to hit your companions more than teh enemy (or you're on your own, and hopelessly outclassed.) Maybe after I level up it will be better, but I'm not counting on it.

Maybe after I level up it will be better, but I'm not counting on it. It does get better when you level up some. I'm at lvl 25, and I pretty much but teh smack on most things that come at me. I can take about 3 at a time, but more than that, and it gets really hairy. Lately I have been spending my time, upping my secondary skills so I can make my own potions and such. (Playing a warrior) I may start over though and make a battlemage. I made a few stupid choices when I started, because I just wanted to start playing, but now that I know better, I wanna re-roll my class. I do think that teh cloud motion and layering is very nice in this game. And teh storm graphics look pretty good with teh lightning and all that. I don't like teh snow though, how it falls with you.
