Man, I was going through some of my pc and consol games and came across some extreemly fun games, that aren't very well known. I mean come on, every one has at least ONE of these games floating around their collection.
I like teh classic Lucasarts games like Loom or Monkey Island. Heck, teh entire MOnkey Island series for that matter. they are just so fun to play.
For those who don't know what these two games are, you run around as teh main character and pick up whatever is usefull, or may be useful later and solve puzzles and such.
Loom deals with a musical scale and magic. You play as a weaver, Bobbin Threadbare, who uses a staff to weave a musical spells to do stuff to solve puzzles and get clues as to where this flock of swans have gone.
Monkey Island is a pirate game. You play as Guybrush Threepwood, and pick up stuff and use it in ways you wouldn't think to use it. Like using root beer to kill ghosts. Your goal is to defeat teh Ghost Pirate LeChuck and his crew of undead pirates and save teh Lovely Governor Elaine Marley... who really doesnt' need rescued at all since just as Guybrush "saves" her you find out she had set up her own escape and way to kill Lechuck. I was followed up with Three other games, using teh same techniques but different storyline.

I've heard of King's quest, but never played it.
With Loom and Monkey Island. Most people I talk games with have never heard them, unless they are MAJOR gamers or huge fans of anything that comes from Lucasarts... like my dad who introduced me to those particular games.

King's quest was a pretty basic adventure game, not very intersting. Quest for Glory on teh other hand, rocked. Lucasarts used to be fantastic... I'd suggest you pick up "X-wing: collector's edition" and "Tie Fighter : collector's edition" some of their early shit was great, if I remember correctly.. Sam and Max hit teh road Grim Fandango Dark Forces Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II Maniac Mansion Full Throttle So... erm.... yah, I'm a gamer.

and don't forget Zack McCracken.
I have two games that I don't know if you've ever heard of for teh Sega dreamcast one is Dragon Riders of Pern and teh other one is Pen Pen Tri-icelon.
Both are okay games, teh first one is dissapointing to fands of teh books, and Pen Pen Tri-icelon is just goofie and made for little kids.

Yeah, monkey island was pretty standard, although teh one described above is like number 4 or so. teh first ones were done a long time ago in CGA, no less. I remember King's Quest, as well as Space Quest with Roger Wilco. Although those are both pretty well known if you grew up around that time. I still wuv Jumpman, which I had on my Comodore 128. And of course, there is Pool of Radiance, I used to play that game for hours and hours and hours on end, and I don't recall beating it. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now. Oh wait. Potty Pigeon, that game ruled. You play as a pigeon that flies around and takes dumps on peoples cars and such. here's a link: www.lemon64.com/?mainurl=http%3A//www.lemon64.com/games/details.php%3FID%3D1981

Huh? teh fourth one is in full 3d graphics and has only been out for a couple of years. And in ALL of them but teh second one has something to do with Elaine Marley. Thats teh general plot for all of them. teh only differences are: teh first one you are trying to become a pirate and then hafta figure out how to resuce elaine. Useing Rootbeer to defeat teh ghost pirate LeChuck. Second, find teh seacret of "big whoop" and use voodoo magic on teh now Zombie pirate Lechuck. Third, Save Elaine because you turned her into a huge gold statue. You now have 3d graphics. Fourth, Save Elaine becasue some austrailian dude has taken over as governor and said that Elaine and Guybrush had died.

I'm high most of teh time anyways, too. So I probably just blurred it all together into one big game. But regardless, they are fun to play.

Hell yeah, I remember some text adventure Zork! My mom bought teh game pack when they came out with teh 3d one. It had all of them, it was awesome! And teh LEgend of Kyrandia games were along teh same lines as king's Quest and Space Quest. I remember borrowing a bunch of those from my ex's mom back when we were dating. What about some Alone in teh Dark? Those games were decent. I also played this one game called "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/ihavenomouthandims/index.html

I wouldn't really consider these two games to be lesser known, but they were great nonetheless, and not a lot of people these days are really aware of them, but:
teh 7th Guest and teh 11th Hour

I teh 7th Guest and teh 11th Hour Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ Those games bored me to tears. They were puzzles with some other bullshit tacked on, and teh puzzles weren't even that cool. (and there really wasn't even much bullshit tacked on)

GunStar Heroes; Sega Genesis; surprisingly, not many people have ever heard of this game. It's one of teh most awesomely coolest games ever. If you're into retro-gaming, check it out.
