Yeah, yeah. I know this isnt about this site, but we dont have a computer geeks board and this seemed like teh best place to put it.
I wanna take screen captures from a movie I have on my computer for my desktop.
I’ve tried playing teh movie, doing a print screen and then pasting it in paint, but when I play teh movie again, teh saved image plays as well or when I exit outta teh movie, teh image goes black
Then I go DL a program specifically for this purpose, but it does teh same as well. I tried reading teh directions to go with teh program, but it strangely enough didn’t have any.... (FYI teh program was called "#1 Screen Capture" found on downloads.com)
Now my question is what am I doing wrong and how can I correct it?

*grins* I had this problem too and I was all "what's teh dealy-o". Actually, it's a really simple fix. Hit pause, then do teh print screen trick.

I tried that . It didnt work for me. Whia media player were you using, maybe that was what was wrong. I used real1 should I try using microsoft?
It would take teh capture, but when I pushed play again, it would play teh screen capture as well, saved as a still image or not.
Is it me or teh computer thats retarded? Wait, think about how much you wuv me before you answer that.

Hmmm...weird. Well, teh player I use for screen caps is teh BS player from Webteh. It's free, just do a google search for BS Player and you'll find it. To take screen caps with that player, just hit P, and they'll be saved to teh BS Player's program file.

I tried that. When I push play again to grab another, teh saved one plays as well, thus trashing all my beeeeautiful efforts and images. It sucks. Some one told me that Windows had some crap that pits a "transparent skin" over teh top of teh image and that if you move teh windows, you can see teh still image behind. support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generaltalk&action=display&n=1&thread=1086574100I dont know but as Dickie Roberts says "this is nucking futs" OH!! random quote day!

Hokay, I know this is a bit late, but it'll help in teh future ^.^. I had this problem as well, so I looked into it and figured out how to take screencaps. teh tutorial is on my site, but I'll show teh text anyway. It's for both Real Player and Windows Media Player: Windows Media Player If you ever tried to print screen with Windows Media Player, you'll notice that when you paste it into a paint program, you can watch teh movie from teh paint program! Cool at first, then you get pissed because no matter how many times you cut, copy, and paste, it's still a movie. Til it ends. Then you get a black screen. So here's what you do: 1. Go to teh Tools tab and click on Options. 2. Go to Performance. 3. Depending on what version you have, this might be different. Look for something called Video Acceleration. Drag teh tab down to None. 4. You can now print screen
Windows XP users: On teh left panel, go to Skin Chooser, then click on Classic. You will now be able to access Tools. Follow teh same steps as above, then get back to teh "cool" version of WMP by clicking on teh double box icon under File.
Real Player
Nearly teh same result when printing screen with Windows Media Player, if teh settings are not correct, you won't get a screenshot. This time, though, you'll only get a black screen. Follw these steps to change that. 1. Click on teh View tab. 2. Go to Preferences. 3. Click in teh Performance tab. 4. Uncheck teh box that says Use optimized video display. 5. And you're done
Real Player v. 10: Go to View >> Preferences, then click Hardware on teh drop down menu. Go to Video Card Compatibility near teh bottom and drag teh box all teh way to teh left so it's on Most Reliable. Voila!

Nope ^_^. teh change in settings doesn't affect teh movie visually or sound-wise, so it's safe to just leave them on.
