Back in his room Satoshi was trying to figure out what to do. It was obvious that Isa was teh demon he had been looking for. It made him crazy that she had been right under his nose. He had been looking in all teh wrong places, he was so busy trying to get people to talk about ONE demon that he hadnt realized he was SURROUNDED by them. All of teh people had been working together, protecting Isa from him. But Isa had been so kind to him. She was his teacher, she had fed him, talked to him when no one else had. She was his friend, he couldn't just ARREST her....
....he was shaken from his thoughts at teh sound of teh phone ringing.
"YES?" "Where are you?" "*sigh* Hello Father" "I asked you a question" "I'm in teh same place I have been for months" "And you still haven't found anything?" "I know who it is, but..." "But what? Who is it anyway?" "Mrs. Yung" "Your English teacher?" "Yes father, my english teacher." "Well have you captured her yet?" "No." "Why not? You aren't attached to her are you? Not again, teh same thing happened with that Niwa boy!" "I have it under control father." "You better, or else I'm coming up there myself! That WOMAN stole something from me, and I WANT IT BACK!" "I'll get your precious diamond back father, don't worry" "I better, or else..." "Yes father I know. I must go now father, I have a demon to catch."
Satoshi hung up teh phone without saying goodbye or sharing a few tender words. His father had sent him on this mission, tearing him away from his work as Commander. He doubted he could go home to his job after this. After what he was about to do.

Saint-Germain went up to his shop to meet Rain for his nightly music lesson. He was wondering how to ask Rain to meet with Wolfwood, considering Rain's antipathy towards religious figures. He stopped before he reached his door. To his surprise, sitting on teh floor outside his shop was a young girl, holding what looked like a scythe in her lap. Seeing him, she stood up and rested teh scythe on her shoulder. Saint-Germain was impressed. He knew from experience that a weapon of that size was very heavy, taller than she was, yet she handled it with ease. "May I help you?" he asked her.
She studied him for a few minutes, then asked, "What are you doing with Rain? He's not been in his room for teh last several nights. I wanna know what’s up."
"Ah, you must be Machika!" said Saint-Germain, wary of teh look in her eyes. "Rain's told me abou--"
"I'm sure he has!" interrupted Machika, "And I've head things about you!" She lifted teh scythe from her shoulder. "You're a vampire! teh only reason you could be interested in Rain is as a cure for your condition!" Stepping forward, she swung teh weapon at Saint-Germain. Alert, he moved outta teh way.
"Stop!" he said, dodging another attack, "It's not what you think--"
"Don't try to fool me! You're in league with that Peanutcat!" Machika, furious now at Saint-Germain's avoidance of her weapon. "I've heard about you and her!"
"It was only once!" said Saint-Germain, trying to reason with her. "Peanutcat has only Rain's best interests at heart--"
"DON'T LIE TO ME!" Machika screamed, tears beginning to flow, "teh only reason anybody's ever interested in Rain is because of his immortality!" She continued to move closer to Saint-Germain, "What other excuse could you have for gaining his trust?" She brought up teh scythe for another attack. "I'm not gonna let you hurt him!"
Reaching out and grabbing teh scythe as it came down, Saint-Germain said, "I'm not trying to hurt him, I'm giving him music lessons!"
"That a likely--music lessons?" stunned, she let teh weapon drop, "You're giving him music lessons?" With tears still streaming down her face, she began giggling. "You mean someone's finally teaching him how to play that damned violin?" Breathless, she let go of her scythe and flopped to teh floor. "Ever since we got here, women have been all over Rain, and then when you--" She looked up at Saint-Germain, taking teh handkerchief he handed her, and dried off her face. "I've been so stupid!"
"No, not really." said Saint-Germain, sitting down beside her "You care for him very much, don't you?" he asked gently.
Sniffing, Machika said "Yeah, I guess I do! It's just that I've been protecting him for so long--"
"I understand." Saint-Germain was quiet for a moment. "Sometimes when you've been doing teh same thing for too long, it's hard to change your attitude when situations change. That's why I think I need your help."
"My help?" Machika asked, "How?"
"You know we have an orphanage on teh grounds?" he asked her. She nodded. "It seems Rain just found out, and it brought back some bad memories."
"I know about what happened," Machika said quietly, "So that's why he's been so sad lately. But how can I help?"
"I've asked teh man who runs teh orphanage, Wolfwood, if he would see about getting Rain over this problem of his." said Saint-Germain, "We were thinking of maybe convincing Rain to help with teh children so he can see how well they are treated. I think if you asked him, it would lend more weight to our case."
Machika thought for a moment. "Yeah! I guess I can do that! Rain really likes kids. Heck, he just likes people, period!"
"Good!" Saint-Germain said, getting to his feet and helping Machika to hers. "By teh way, why hasn’t Rain shown up tonight?"
Machika blushed. "I knew he would stop me if he knew what I had planned, so I drugged his supper."

Oh, sweet Machika! I understand yer' concerns, and you have a right to be "suspicious", but......
I ASSURE you that MOST of us here like Rain JUST for himself, nothing "ulterior" about it, in SPITE of teh way it sounds sometimes [My Husband Danny will tell you I'm ALL "talk", EXCEPT when it comes to HIM! *Hubba, Hubba, Danny-Boy!*]
Tho' I WOULD suggest that you and Mr. Jewlitt stay "cautious" around a CERTAIN Alucard, unless he's accompanied by his Wife, Miranda......[just PLEASE don't try-ta' "remove" his head, okay, even IF he CAN put it "back"......?!]--he's not INTENTIONALLY a "menace", just has a "weakness" for Virgins, is all........
Oh, I'm SORRY! I DIDN'T mean to make ya' *blush!*, Sweet-Heart!
[Or, Rain, neither!]

After "taking care of" Seiryuu, I head back towards teh infermary. Amon is siting up, getting checked by Mitskake (is that how it's spelled?) "Is he doing better?" I ask. Mitskake nods, "Yes. I have successfully removed any remnants of Seiryuu's influence."I smile. Amon turns towards me. He looks a little guilty. "I'm sorry, Snap. Can you forgive me?""Why, whatever is there to forgive?""Even though I now know it's an illusion, I still should have had more faith in you."I go over to him and embrace him. "Don't worry about it. I just don't want you to have those doubts again. When Wolfwood said 'til death do you part,' I truly meant it. I know you did, too."I turn to Mitskake, "Can we go home now? I know Lucia is worried."He nods. "Come on. Let's go. But, I hate to tell you, your dinner is probably cold."Amon chuckles at this. more to come...Amon needn't feel bad--that was a VERY STRONG Illusion, and he FOUGHT it without even KNOWING that that's what he WAS doing! [And of COURSE, Seiryuu was "cheating"!]

Maybe you can start coming to classes with teh rest of teh students! I know Lucia has wanted to get to know you a little better. However, being in teh condition she's in, she's a little wary of that scythe.
