hmm....I would say use one of teh 'Journey to teh West' based manga, but none of teh 'age appropriate' ones have been translated......Naruto is age appropriate....:: tries to think of a 'classic' :: sorry...>___< all my American collection is NOT age appropriate for....anybody really....though *I* think Squee is classic ^____^ squee!
yea, squee is funny, though i really doubt it has much, if any, educational value...
though it is cute and funny, and amusing

Hmm... lets think on this... would YOU let your fifteen year old child read that in a class? FIFTEEN-year-old!? Yes! I probably couldn't STOP them from reading it ANYWAY, and it's better than having them read "FAKE!", noda!

Heck... she was doin' it to us up until we were eighteen, then she would GUILT us outta it if she REALLY didn't think it was appropriate for anyone. Actually I'm thinking on teh lines of about fifth grade up... and it doesn't NECESSARILY hafta be "Educational" Just a graphic novel in general. Also keep in mind how most teachers are and if THEY'D approve of it.

I would also reccomend Fruits Basket, and Immortal Rain. And I'm not just saying that because I like them.
Rurouni Kenshin might be a good one since it has a lot of historical basis for it.
InuYasha might be good, too...

InuYasha might be good, too... I allready thought of Fruits Basket... and Stampers suggested Immortial Rain. Kenshin would be good... But I'm not too sure about Inu Yasha.

OH! I don't remember who wrote it, but Maus it's retelling of teh holocaust but with Mice instead of people. It won a Pulitzer prize.
I own teh first two, I don't own Maus unfortunately. I hope that helps some.I was "forced" to read Maus my freshman year in college, so now I own it. *snuggles Maus* And yes, it is very very very good. Simple yet stunning artwork. Great story, and it deals with some very deep and powerful themes (its teh holocaust after all). Oh, and it was done by Art Speigelman. I would also like to recommend teh Tintin series, just cuz I wuv Tintin. Um, Its french. Don't know teh author. And it might be too juvenile for what you're lookin for though... Oh well. *snuggles Tintin anyway*

Inu-Yasha. There's a lot of women's breastage exposed... Oh... yeah. I thought you were talking about Immortal Rain or Fruits Basket. No I've been kinda iffy with suggesting Inu Yasha.
