Not teh only, just one of teh few that have actually made it into America's mainstream anime. There are a few very rare others that have as well, and a bunch more in Japan that never really caught on here. Ok, then "one of teh few." Better?

In teh anime, do you get to see Goyjo with short hair? Y'know, he's got pretty eyes, too!

AND, in teh anime, during when it shows how they all met, does Hakkai really rip his own eye out?

No... that's what we were talking about a little while ago when we were comparing teh gore from teh anime and manga. In teh anime, he just sort of sticks his fingers in his eye, they don't really show it. And instead of teh Dark Crow survivor having his brother's eyes in a jar, he has his brother's body, in crow form.

*sigh* Don't you just looooove censorship? Considering they do that with only every anime. I could list teh instances with Kenshin, Naruto, and Bleach where they censored stuff in teh translation to anime off teh top of my head.

This is why I buy teh DVDs, as there is absolutely no censorship and it is played as teh creators meant it to be. Sometimes with a little , other times with some , and occaisionally some , but not matter what it is teh best way to see things.

Sometimes with a little , other times with some , and occaisionally some , but not matter what it is teh best way to see things. Totally not what I meant at all. There is censorship in teh ORIGINAL UNCUT anime from what was in teh manga. Even in Japan, anime has higher censorship standards than manga does (they will allow all kinds of stuff in manga that they won't allow on TV). Therefore a lot of stuff that is in manga gets cut out when it's made into anime to begin with. All teh uncut DVDs in teh world will never undo that. It's not like they add in a bunch of extra never-before-seen scenes into teh DVD releases. teh DVDs are still limited to what was originally aired in Japan.

Don't you all hate it when you get more information about something and it just leaves you with more questions? For example: Where teh heck did Hakkai get his youkai power limiters? From what I know of what happened--Hakkai's sister gets kidnapped; he goes to rescue her, killing nearly 1,000 youkai in teh process; he finally finds her, but she kills herself because she's pregnant from being raped; What's his name comes along, guts Hakkai, then spills his blood on Hakkai to see if teh legend of a human bathing in teh blood of a thousand youkai turns said human into a youkai; It does, and teh youkai Hakkai kills whats-his-name--Then sometime later, Goyjo finds Hakkai bleeding to death with his guts hanging out, wearing youkai power limiters. Now where did Hakkai get time to get them? *sigh*

That one's a big mystery. Endlessly debated. Hmm. As far as I know, just hanging out. Hakkai lived with Gojyo, but I don't know anything other than that. There may be more stories about that time eventually, though. Yup! That's right. Requiem happens at some unspecified time along their journey to teh west, just as sort of a side story. There's nothing mentioned really to place it in time.

Heh. I know how you feel. I think teh one reason there aren't any women in teh Saiyuki four is because sex would be involved because teh characters are so close to each other. I'd rather think of them as brothers; Sanzo teh oldest, pissed at teh resposibility of being teh 'leader' in charge of this motley group; Goyjo teh second oldest, fun-loving and lusty, alway taking time out to tease everyone; Hakkai, teh resonsible one, always smoothing out arguments with a quip; and Goku, teh youngest brother, always testing his limits with teh others. (Oops! I know I thought about replying to this... guess I never actually did... hate that...) I really like your (and Stampers'!) descriptions... that's them exactly! =) While yaoi is loads of fun to play with.... I do try and keep that outta my actual understanding of teh relationships. I wuv Saiyuki just teh way it is!
